Who you're buying from
Purchases are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record — Paddle handles the checkout, payment, applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax), invoices, and payment data. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the transaction itself; these terms govern the software license you receive.
The 30-day trial
csvlite is free to evaluate for 30 days from first launch, with every feature enabled. No payment details and no account are required. After the trial ends the app continues to launch, but opening files requires a license; your files and saved views are never modified, deleted, or degraded by trial expiry.
What a license is
A csvlite license is a signed key delivered to your email address after purchase. It is a perpetual license for the major version current at the time of purchase (for example, csvlite 1):
- Every minor and patch release within that major version is included, free.
- Any build your license covers keeps working forever — there is no subscription, no expiry, and no server the app depends on.
- A future major version (for example, csvlite 2) is an optional, separately-paid upgrade. Choosing not to upgrade never affects the versions you own.
Personal license — $29
For non-commercial use by one individual, on all of that individual's computers. Personal licenses are not transferable to another person.
Business license — $59 per seat
Required for commercial use. A business license is owned by the organization and covers one concurrent seat: one person using csvlite at a time per seat. The seat may be reassigned when the person using csvlite changes. Buy as many seats as you have concurrent users.
What you may not do
- Share, publish, or resell your license key. Your name and email address are embedded in the key and displayed by the app.
- Redistribute, rent, sell, or sublicense the software itself.
- Remove or circumvent the license mechanism.
csvlite is proprietary software. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved.
Delivery and recovery
Your license key is emailed to the address used at checkout, from a csvlite.com address, normally within minutes of purchase. Keep that email. If you lose it, the license recovery page re-sends the key to the same address at any time.
Refunds
See the refund policy: 14 days, no questions asked. A refunded purchase invalidates the license — it can no longer be re-sent or re-issued.
Warranty and liability
csvlite is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. csvlite opens your files strictly read-only and never modifies your data; nevertheless, to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
These terms may be revised for future purchases; the terms in force when you bought your license are the ones that apply to it. Material changes will be dated on this page.
